So school has started. It's all right. I think I'm going to drop french and take Graphic's 2 instead, i've just lost all interest in french and have no desire to pursue it. Otherwise my schedule is pretty good.

Unfortunately i'll be out of soccer for at least 2 weeks. I've had this on-going knee problem for the past 2 years and favoring my right leg so much has resulted in a slightly torn quad.

Even though school has started, at least i've got something to look forward to...some great shows coming up.

10/1 Ryan Adams @ Beacon
10/9 the Dead @ Beacon
10/22 Against Me in Philly
10/29 Green Day in Philly
11/20 Against Me!, Bouncing Souls @ Starland
11/26 the Dead w/ String Cheese @ Tweeter

yo. this week i had soccer every day and in the afternoons i hung out with various people. Wednesday i went to see the allman brothers band with spd and mike downey and his friend. we had special vip passes where we could go into the vip tent. we were clearly the youngest in there and they ran out of food by the time we got in. unfortunately los lonely boys didn't open up the show as expected, so we skipped the opening act. sean and i walked around when the allman brothers came on, enjoyed some panda than went down to our seats, which were exceptional. the sound quality was great up front. derek trucks is just mind blowing to watch on guitar, and warren haynes isn't half bad either. sean and i eventually met up with caitlin, ryan and lara and had a little more panda. shortly after we split up, the show ended and i was a little disappointed with the length of the show. there also weren't that many people there dancing around or anything, no one was really feeling it i guess. a good show none the less.

i'm not really sure what i'm doing today, but no socer tomorrow or Sunday, so that's cool.
P!

so this has been a rather uneventful week. soccer try outs everyday, i made the team, although i think some people who got cut were more deserving than myself, but i'm not going to complain about that.

Tuesday i went over to joe kaines and picked some stuff up, than met up with mike for lunch at dongs. we went to mikes than came here, hung out with pat and joemo, and bball came later on. the mofo's at manville wouldn't let us in to see a r-rated movie, so we ended up making a digourno pizza instead.

i saw i, robot with bob and mikey last night, not a very good flick. its so hard to take will smith seriously.

caitlin comes back tonight, now i'll have something to do instead of sit here all day =)

<lj:music>secret machines - now here is nowhere "first wave intact"</lj:music>

went to warped (sponsored by Samsung) yesterday with bball and tim. the whole atmosphere of the show has changed significantly since the first time i went 4 years ago, much more corporate sponsorship and the line up wasn't nearly as impressive. we got there and saw Thursday, who were disappointing, the weakest I've seen them, but than again I think the crowd played a huge factor in the enjoyment of the show (i.e. the constant punching, roundhouse kicks to the face and all the people who make fools of themselves make it hard to enjoy.) after that we walked around, and as we were walking I saw a guy who looked like Bruce Springsteen. i pointed him out to tim and he agreed, it was defiantly the boss. unfortunately we didn't say anything to him, but it was alter confirmed that it was him when all the bands announced it (but the moronic crowd gave him boo's (not bruuuuuuce)) so anyway, after that was the souls who put on a good set, and the crowd was much better. they were followed by flag who was good as well. after that we had a brilliant plan to get food while taking back Sunday was playing because nearly all the kids were running there when they started, and it turned out to be a wise move and we got our food with a small wait. after walking around aimlessly for a while we headed over to flogging molly who put on a great performance, a fine way to end the show. all and all it was a decent show, and I'm still a bit nostalgic for how it used to be, but it was a good way to spend a day none the less.

P!

<lj:music>dmb - under the table and dreaming "rhyme and reason"</lj:music>

An exceptional weekend. Saturday morning Bobalou, Schwartz, Howie and myself set out for Saratoga Springs where we would be seeing the Dave Matthews Band that night. It was a pretty quick ride to Saratoga Springs. We got to our 3 day old hotel and headed out to the downtown area. We ate lunch and than howie split up. Bob, Dave and i went into numerous shops, and about 3 head shops. We tried to buy some pieces , but to no avail....they all asked for ID. So after that we went back to the hotel, and than went back out into town. As we were going back to Manifest Station so that bob could buy some of the "legal highs", howie ran past us and said "now stay away from those smoke shops", with a ridiculous smirk on his face, as if he were saying "hey, i know what the deal here is...and it's ok" We actually never got back to the shop because i was scared my dad would see us walk in, a legitimate concern, but in retrospect we probably could have gone in. So by the time this was all over, we headed back to the hotel and set out for the show. We got there and there was a huge traffic jam. and where we parked was probably a mile away from the amphitheater. So we walked there, met some interesting people in the line for the bathroom and got ready for the show.

The show itself was nothing short of amazing. Schwartz and I enjoyed some k-bear during the show, and it just made the experience so much more enjoyable. I just spent the whole time dancing around with what seemed like no inhibitions, and it felt like i "experienced" the show more than i have any concert i've been to. The talent of all the members of the band is incomparable...some of the things going on were just mind blowing. The set list he played was also exceptional, although i was a little disappointed he didn't play his rendition of All Along the Watchtower. He also played 4 of his new songs which sounded awesome. The set list went as followed...

Everyday
So Much To Say
Too Much
New Song #1
Granny
Warehouse
One Sweet World
New Song #4
Drive In Drive Out
Bartender
New Song #3
Where Are You Going
Jimi Thing
New Song #2
Crash
Rapunzel
--------------
Bass Intro
Crush
Stay

So all and all it was an incredible show, and i've been to countless shows, and I have to say it surpasses the Boss as the best concert i've been too. After the show we headed out with hopes of meeting howie at the car, but since schwartz and i were a little disoriented and bob lacks any navigational skills whatsoever, we got pretty lost in this giant state park. After about 40 minutes of mindless wandering we found our way back after asking a cop. We found my dad and went to get some pizza than went back to the hotel.

We woke up this morning and went to Woodstock. A really interesting town, with a bunch of craft, art, organic food and yes, head shops, plus the hippies. That was cool.

So it's the 4th of July and i think i'm heading over to Bball's later tonight. Take it easy.

So the final weekend of the school year has passed, and it was yet another awesome weekend.

Friday after school Tim and Mike came over after school. We met a new friend named Jeremiah, who provided us with a fun-filled evening. So after our introductions to Jeremiah, we headed to Hamilton St to see a show w. Hillsborough bands. Unfortunately we missed Steve's band, canaries' third time missing his band. I wasn't overly impressed with any of the bands, the sound they are all playing has become so hackneyed and i'm tired of it. We really need to start a band that is different, too bad i lack any musical talent. So Doreen picked us up, and we headed home.

Saturday I went to borders with Bobalou and got some of my summer reading things for english and math. Bert is a good man, but i was terrified being in a car with him behind the wheel on the Somerville Circle. so after that i headed home, Bball Fisch soon came over and we headed to Vintage Vynil with howie, probably the best record store in the area. I got the a live Velvet Underground recording and the new Secret Machines album, who are undoubtedly the best new band out there in my opinion, they mix Pink Floyd with Led Zepp with a little of the Who with some modern things added in, just a lot of cool things going on. Anyway, after that Bball and i headed home, and Canori, Steve, Jeremy and Nick came over. The evening started off a little slow, but after some pretzels thrown, nick passing out and the wall...it was a grand evening

so anyway, that was cool. Sunday was filled with nothing. I'd like to tell you i studied and am a good student, but i'd be lying, which i am kind of regretting now seeing as finals start tomorrow.

yo. so the week is finally over, and school is winding down. last night Tim, Bball Fisch, Canori and myself ventured to the Krome to see the Streetlight Manifesto. We got there at 7, and there were 4 or 5 bands on the main stage before streetlight came on, none of which were very impressive. Streetlight came on and played a stellar set, playing everything from their new cd, Everything Goes Numb, some old stuff, and a 1 1/8 covers, Every Rose Has It's Thorn and about 1/8 of Smells Like Teen Spirit. By the end of the show, my shirt was off and my body was covered with sweat, very reminiscent of those long nights i had with my Columbian sex slave, Rico, before he got deported. So after an encore with 3 songs, we headed out. Streetlight put on an exceptional show and made me remember how much fun ska show's can be.

This weekend I need to find a job.

P!

    <lj:music>the devil makes three - s/t "the plank"</lj:music>

So the 3 day weekend is almost over, and it was time well spent. My birthday worked out well, from the parents I got a giant

, books including Nothing Feels Good : Punk Rock, Teenagers and Emo, which I started and is really good, along with 4 or 5 other books, and some cash.

Saturday I didn't really do that much.

Sunday was cool. Sunday Andy called me up and invited me to go on a bike ride with him to the Sourland preserve. That ended up being cool, something out of the ordinary, it was nice hanging with andy again and getting some exercise. After that I came home and didn't do much. Bert came over at around 10 and we just hung out for a while. I put on some Dashboard, and much to my dismay Bert knew all the lyrics to every single song I put on. So after that display of singing we headed into the backyard for the night. We just talked all night, and came to a lot of realizations. One thing that we discussed a lot was the fact that we're going to be Juniors next year and we found ourselves asking "Where the hell has time gone?" It feels like it was just yesterday we were in 7th grade getting our spelling tests ripped up by an hysterical Ms Fava (and later getting 100's on them). Shit...time flies. Anyway, besides that we just talked about other things...it was a good time. Before we knew it, the sun was coming up, which kind of goes along with the whole time flying epiphany we had. T' was a good time.

So, it seems as if a popular subject among my cronies journals is the fact that people are so judgmental. I'm sure many people have made judgments about me based on things I choose to do, but frankly, I don't care. The people I care about know who and what I am, and know that i'm not just another stereotype. The same goes for my friends who have been unfairly labeled because of things they do. They are all genuinely good guys, the kindest group i know and just good friends, none of this talking behind backs and such that goes on with most other cliques out there. Anyone who thinks that because they partake in illicit substances turns them into different, bad people really need to get a grip and chill out, for lack of a better term. They are all going to have a rude awakening come college when they enter the real world and things like that happen, and you can't just turn your back on everyone who experiments. When someone starts fellating old men in bathrooms to get a fix, than people can start talking...but for now all the talking and whatnot that's going on is mindless, close minded thinking. Also, if you're going to leave comments, don't be a coward and leave your real name, unlike the "big weeny" remarks left in Tim's.

Have a nice day.

so the birthday yesterday went very well. bball fisch came over on my bus after school and we immediately rode bikes to bobs in order to help him get the tents out of his attic. after that we came back and started to set up the tents. i had to go pick max up at the train station, so the erecting the giant tent was left up to bball fisch, mike, sean and bob, and they actually got it up, granted it looked like a tent on crack. so we got max at the station and picked up joey kaine and headed out to shogan with everyone. shogan was good, as always. we picked up g-money lewis and headed back to my house. tim showed up soon, and we headed into the backyard for the ngiht. we were in my backyard an majority of the night having a grand old time. it was an awesome evening and a fine way to celebrate.

the following quote, by a fine young man, sums up the night well in my opinion,,,,

"bro, i have to take a pee...but i don't think i remember how to..."

the last few weekends have been pretty awesome, and this weekend thus far is no exception. yesterday after school Bert came over and assisted me in bringing the TV (circa 1987) up into my room from the basement. we got it up relatively easily, and soon after he left. soon after he left sean showed up and sat on my futon and watched a dvd. mike showed up and we headed out to shop rite to get some grub. on the way home we picked up bert and soon after we returned home mike and tim showed up. as we were hanging out in my room we realized we all had khaki shorts on and white undershirts (see lj-cut later). awesome. so after that we did the usual. sean left at 1145 which was unfortunate. after he left we went outside and hung out and just did more of the usual. we ordered a pizza from dominos and bert said perhaps the most ridiculous thing i've heard in my life...

bro, i'm really full...but i still want to eat some more. i'm going to go over there, throw this shit up and make some room for a couple more slices

haha. so after that we headed into the fortress, hung out there for a while and tim saw a shining light across the street that appeared to be going on and off. we looked at it for probably about 10 minutes, and concluded that it was no more than a doorbell. so we headed inside, played some guitar, sang some songs and watched some movies. overall a great night, good to see canori came and it was good hanging with ninja tim once again.
